San Gimignano

We took a bus from Florence to San Gimignano. Quite the adventure, with a connection in another town.
San Gimignano is a hill town from the Middle Ages with lots of towers and an old fortress. The town today though is full of touristy shops. Nonetheless, it was worth visiting for a few hours.

Tuscany behind us

After a very hot day in San Gimignano, we came back to our hotel for a little siesta, I can certainly see the merit of those in the hot summer especially. We went out for a late dinner in the Santo Spirito Piazza near our hotel. At 9:30pm on a Wednesday night, the Piazza was full of locals having dinner at one of the may patios, there was a live band and people were everywhere. Amazing atmosphere.
